The Africa Book Centre has been selling books from and about Africa since April 1989. If you can't find what you are looking for, please contact orders@africabookcentre.com.

Making A Purchase Please note that books marked 'BNS' are books not seen. Descriptions come from publisher information.

Books marked 'DELAY' are usually African imports and, if not in stock, may take some time to arrive.

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Switch. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

Shipping And Handling UK:1st Class Post - £2.00 up to a maximum charge of £18.00

North America, Europe and the Rest of the World: Standard delivery - minimum charge £3.00, then 20% of item value in £5 increments to £25.00, 15% thereafter.

Delivery Schedule If items ordered for UK addresses are in stock they will usually be despatched within 48 hours. If an item is not in stock and needs to be ordered, you will NOT be contacted unless the delay is likely to be in excess of one month. International orders are shipped every 10 days, on alternate Wednesdays and alternate Fridays. If a book is currently not in stock and will take more than a month to arrive from our suppliers, we will despatch it separately. Orders marked DELAY can take up to 12 months. Expected delivery times AFTER despatch: UK 48-72 hours, Europe: 7-10 working days; Rest of the World: 21-28 working days.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you. If it is likely to take more than one month to be back in stock, you will be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges Book orders are free of tax. For orders of Compact Discs made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other Compact Disc orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .
Credit Card Security All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee All items should be received in good condition. If any item is damaged please return it to us and we will gladly replace it or refund the cost, and reimburse you for the cost of return.

Privacy Policy The Africa Book Centre Ltd. does not disclose buyers information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' option. Data collected by this site is used to:

a. Take and fulfill customer orders

b. Administer and enhance the site and service

c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

Returns Policy You may cancel your order at any time PRIOR to despatch.

In addition, under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you may return items within 7 working days of delivery. However, unless items are damaged or delivered to you in error, you will be responsible for the cost of return.

Remittance Terms We accept Visa, Mastercard and Switch. We regret that we do NOT accept American Express or Diners.
