2002 CD

Segun Damisa, leader of the group Afrobeat Crusaders, worked with the real greats of Afrobeat, including Fela, King Sunny Ade, Tony Allen and Femi Kuti. After taking part in several world tours as a percussionist, he decided to form his own group. This album was recorded in Chris Birkett's studios. Segun's friend Manu Dibango is heard playing alto sax on one of the tracks. This is a pure product of Afrobeat, combining jazz and soul with the rhythms of juju and high life. Sadly, it is Segun's last recording: he died suddenly during the production of this album. Sleeve notes in English and French. 9 tracks, 59:16 mins, FRANCE. PLAYA SOUND.
